Why we do not use templates

A template is a stack of decisions somebody else made for a business that is not yours.

Every template begins with the same question: what does the average business need? Then it answers it for everyone at once. The result is a site that fits nobody in particular, and looks like the site next door, and the one after that.

A salon in Chatsworth does not need what a law office in Beverly Hills needs. A restaurant needs its menu found in two taps and its phone number one tap from anywhere. A trade needs a quote form that works on a truck. None of that comes from a theme. It comes from sitting with the business and asking what the site has to do.

So we start from a blank file. We look at the brand, the storefront, the reviews, and the street. We decide what a customer needs to see first, and we build outward from there. The design system is drawn from the business, not applied to it.

It takes longer than installing a theme. It also produces a site that is yours, that loads fast because it carries nothing it does not use, and that nobody else can buy.
